Replacing an Existing Toilet with a Toto Bidet Suite
Our team attended a property in North Balgowlah NSW 2093 to replace an existing toilet with a customer-supplied Toto bidet toilet suite.
Unlike a standard toilet replacement, the new Toto suite required modifications to the existing water supply and coordination of an electrical connection.
The existing water pipework was concealed behind the bathroom wall, so access was established through the adjoining walk-in closet to complete the plumbing alterations.
Accessing the Concealed Water Pipework
The existing toilet pan was removed and disposed of before work began on the new installation.
To access the water supply behind the toilet, a section of the Gyprock wall in the adjoining walk-in closet was opened.
This exposed the existing cistern water feed, allowing the pipework to be modified without running exposed water lines around the bathroom.
The redundant in-wall cistern connection was then cut, capped and decommissioned to make way for the new supply arrangement.
Installing a New Water Supply for the Toto Toilet
New water pipework and fittings were installed to provide a dedicated connection for the Toto bidet toilet.
This required a new penetration through the existing bathroom tiles behind the toilet, positioned to suit the water connection requirements of the new suite.
The pipework was brought through the tiled wall and the penetration sealed around the new connection.
By adapting the concealed plumbing, the new water supply could be positioned to suit the Toto toilet while maintaining a tidy appearance within the bathroom.
Installing and Connecting the Toto Bidet Toilet
The customer-supplied Toto bidet toilet suite was assembled and positioned in the bathroom.
The toilet pan was secured using silicone sealant bedding before the new water supply was connected.
As the bidet toilet also required electricity to operate, the electrical connection was coordinated with an electrician engaged for the project.
This ensured both the plumbing and electrical requirements were addressed as part of the installation.
Testing and Completing the North Balgowlah Installation
Once the toilet was installed and the necessary connections were completed, the new Toto suite was tested and commissioned to confirm correct operation.
Installation waste was removed and the work area cleaned.
The completed project replaced the existing toilet with a new bidet suite, including the concealed water supply alterations, decommissioning of the redundant cistern connection and coordination of the required electrical works.
