Adding Two New Toilet Facilities to the Property
Our team completed plumbing works at a property in Merrylands NSW 2160 to install two new toilet facilities: one within the laundry and another in an outdoor area.
Both installations required new connections to the property's existing sewer and cold-water services. This involved modifying the existing drainage, extending water lines and installing the new toilet suites and associated plumbing.
The laundry installation also included plumbing connections for a vanity, while the outdoor works required changes to the existing sewer gully and garden tap.
Connecting the New Laundry Toilet and Vanity
Once the existing PVC sewer line had been exposed, a new PVC junction was cut into the drainage to provide a sewer connection for the laundry toilet and vanity.
A core hole was made through the brickwork for the required plumbing connection, and a new cold-water line was extended externally from the existing washing machine supply.
A new toilet with a skew pan and ceramic cistern was installed and sealed into position. The new pipe penetrations were also sealed, and blue metal was placed around the PVC drainage connection to provide support.
The new laundry plumbing was then tested and commissioned.
Relocating the Sewer Gully for the Outdoor Toilet
The second stage involved creating the plumbing connections for the new outdoor toilet.
The existing sewer gully was relocated to the required position before a new sewer junction was cut into the drainage for the toilet.
A new water point was also roughed in from the existing cold-water service, incorporating an isolation valve and provision for the vanity connection.
As part of these works, the existing garden tap was relocated to the left-hand side of the rainwater tank.
Installing and Testing the Outdoor Toilet
A new toilet suite with a ceramic cistern was supplied and installed in the outdoor area.
The toilet pan was sealed to the floor and connected to the newly installed sewer and water services.
Once the plumbing connections were complete, the toilet and associated services were tested and commissioned before the work area was cleaned.
Completing the Merrylands Plumbing Upgrade
The completed works added two new toilet facilities while making use of the property's existing sewer and cold-water infrastructure.
The laundry now has dedicated drainage and water connections for its new toilet and vanity, while the outdoor area has a new toilet connection supported by a relocated sewer gully and new water point.
By modifying the existing services where required, both new facilities could be incorporated into the property's plumbing without unnecessarily replacing the wider drainage or water systems.
