Three Plumbing Repairs at One Beaumont Hills Property
Our team attended a property in Beaumont Hills to complete repairs and maintenance across three separate plumbing systems.
The rainwater tank had a leaking overflow connection and required a replacement pump. The hot water system had leaking unions and needed a new temperature and pressure relief (TPR) valve, while a shower mixer required a replacement cartridge.
Rather than replacing entire fixtures or systems unnecessarily, the work focused on the components requiring attention.
Repairing the Rainwater Tank Overflow
The first stage involved repairing a leaking overflow connection on the existing rainwater tank.
The affected overflow pipework was disconnected and removed before new PVC pipework and fittings were installed.
This renewed the leaking connection and restored the overflow pipework, which provides a pathway for excess water when the rainwater tank reaches capacity.
Replacing the Rainwater Pump and Changeover Device
The existing rainwater pump system was removed and replaced with a new pressure pump.
A new mains water changeover device was also installed, along with a pressure reduction valve on the pump outlet.
The changeover device manages the supply between the rainwater system and mains water, while the pressure reduction valve helps regulate the pressure delivered from the pump.
New copper pipework was installed for the potable water and rainwater connections to suit the replacement equipment.
Once the new pump, valves and pipework were connected, the rainwater system was tested and commissioned.
Repairing Leaks on the Hot Water System
The hot water system also required attention, with leaking unions identified during the maintenance works.
The main water and electrical supplies were isolated before the leaking connections were repaired.
A new temperature and pressure relief (TPR) valve was also supplied and installed.
This valve is an important safety component that allows the hot water system to release water if temperature or pressure exceeds its specified limits.
Following the repairs, the hot water system was tested and commissioned, with fixture testing carried out to check operation.
Replacing the Shower Mixer Cartridge
The final repair involved a shower mixer that required a new internal cartridge.
Rather than replacing the complete shower mixer, our team supplied and installed a replacement cartridge within the existing fixture.
The cartridge controls water flow and temperature adjustment, making it an important part of the mixer's operation.
Once installed, the shower mixer was tested to confirm it was operating correctly.
Completing the Beaumont Hills Plumbing Repairs
The completed works addressed three different plumbing maintenance requirements during the same visit.
The rainwater system received a new overflow connection, pressure pump, changeover device and associated pipework. The hot water system had its leaking unions repaired and TPR valve replaced, while the shower mixer was serviced with a new cartridge.
Each system was tested and commissioned following its respective repairs, and the work areas were cleaned with installation waste removed from site.
