Installing a New Water Supply for a Commercial Pressure Washer
Our team attended a commercial car wash facility in Pemulwuy to install a dedicated water point for a pressure washer.
The project involved extending the existing water supply with approximately 24 metres of new copper pipework, running the new line alongside the car wash pump-out pipework and installing a quarter-turn tap at the required location.
The new connection was taken from the existing water line downstream of the backflow prevention device, allowing the additional water point to be incorporated into the facility's plumbing.
Connecting to the Existing Water Supply
Before installing the new pipework, the water supply was isolated at the existing backflow prevention device.
New copper connections were then installed onto the existing water line downstream of the device.
This provided the connection point for the new pressure washer supply without requiring a separate water service to be brought into the building.
Running 24 Metres of Copper Pipework Through the Car Wash
Approximately 24 metres of copper water pipe was installed along the designated route inside the car wash facility.
The pipework followed the existing pump-out line at the required height before being directed down the internal wall towards the new water point.
Suitable pipe saddles were installed along the route to secure the copper pipework and keep it supported.
Following the existing service route helped position the new water line within the facility while providing a direct connection to the pressure washer location.
Installing the Pressure Washer Water Connection
At the end of the new copper line, a quarter-turn tap was supplied and installed to provide the dedicated pressure washer water point.
The tap allows the water supply to be turned on or off at the connection, making it practical for equipment use and isolation when required.
With the new pipework and tap installed, the water supply was reinstated.
Testing and Completing the Pemulwuy Water Point Installation
Once the installation was complete, the new water connection was tested and commissioned to confirm correct operation.
Installation waste was removed and the work area was cleaned.
The completed project provided the car wash with a dedicated pressure washer connection, supported by approximately 24 metres of new copper pipework and a conveniently positioned isolation tap.
