Updating the Bathroom Fixtures and Plumbing Connections
Our team attended a property in Glenorie NSW 2157 to upgrade bathroom fixtures across the shower, bath, two basins and toilet.
The work included new chrome tapware, a wall-hung basin and mixer, a new toilet suite and updated basin connections.
Where suitable, the existing copper water services and PVC pipework were retained and modified to accommodate the new fixtures rather than unnecessarily replacing serviceable plumbing.
Replacing the Shower, Bath and Basin Tapware
The property's water supply was isolated before the existing shower, bath and basin tap sets were removed.
New chrome tap sets were installed throughout the bathroom, along with new isolation valves and steel-braided flexible hoses at the basin connections.
Isolation valves make future maintenance easier by allowing individual fixtures to be shut off without necessarily isolating the water supply to the entire property.
New sealant was also applied behind the shower and bath cover plates around the plumbing penetrations.
Installing the New Basin and Toilet
The existing basin and toilet were removed and replaced with a new wall-hung basin, basin mixer and toilet suite.
Because replacement fixtures don't always align perfectly with the original plumbing, the existing copper and PVC pipework was modified where required to suit the new positions and connections.
This allowed the new fixtures to be installed while retaining the existing plumbing that remained suitable for use.
Testing the New Bathroom Fixtures
Once the tapware, basin and toilet were installed, the new connections were tested and commissioned to confirm everything was operating correctly.
The completed project provided the bathroom with updated fixtures and connection points across the shower, bath, basins and toilet without requiring unnecessary replacement of the existing concealed plumbing.
